The southern facade of 33m contains the sun terrace. This glass facade and glass roof canopy are built completely according to the current standards of water and wind sealing, while respecting the historical character of the building. With the new glass roof, the rhythm of the lines of this modernist building will be fully respected. The construction consists of a steel supporting structure with aluminium glazing with partitions in accordance with the architectural style of the building. The building is renovated according to current energy performance standards and meets the requirements of a swimming pool environment for corrosion.
We have fully engineered the façade and glass roof while respecting the architectural value of the building. The primary steel structure has been retained, with new aluminum and glass installed on it. The combination of façade - glass roof - façade provides this sun terrace with a particularly energetic indoor climate.
We have chosen the Mc Wall curtain wall from Aliplast. This provides natural light into the building and prevents wind and water infiltration. The curtain wall exudes an unprecedented aesthetic for the construction of façades with both simple and complex forms."
This swimming pool, built in 1950, was inspired by the maritime architecture of the 1930s (Paquebot style). It is an architecture of clean horizontal lines, large balconies, round windows (portholes) in the changing rooms, repetitive lines and shapes. The building contains a large 33m long swimming pool and 2 smaller children's pools. The south side of the building has a lower extension along the length of the large pool with a modernist vertical facade that turns into a sun terrace with a large glass roof. The facade and glass roof were restored in the 70s and 90s and are now in need of complete replacement.
