Technical description
The provision of structural steel and glass systems meeting EI60 fire standards fall well within our technical expertise and are regularly delivered as part of our projects.
Context
The potential for fire to spread through glazed atria to adjacent buildings demands serious consideration. All too often, the solution is to bolster the structure resulting in a compromised aesthetic but there are alternatives to this approach. In this case, the designer opted for the latter and was able to deliver a light filled space and a kitchen within the requirements of the regulations.
